With current restrictions meaning Scouting activities across the county cannot take place, our members have been coming up with imaginative ways to continue Scouting from home.
The Deepings Apache Cub pack have been enjoying a wide range of activities, sharing ideas and instructions with each other online.
Here are just some of the activities they have been taking part in:
- Personal and necker care as part of the Home Help Badge
- Taking part in the WWF Earth Hour in lots of different ways, including a virtual camp
- Working on the Artist Badge by creating artwork to show our support for the NHS and community
- An online treasure hunt
- Online bingo
- Virtually learning together how to make a kite and flying them as part of their daily exercise
And it is not just the young people enjoying these activities, families and carers have been getting involved and are enjoying the entertainment.
Feedback has been really positive:
"Thanks for the much-needed treasure hunt yesterday. It lifted our spirits and has inspired a household Easter hunt in the next week."
"Oh, this was so good, thank you guys! I haven't seen Nicholas so animated for days!"
"We enjoyed the zoom meeting and looking forward to the family quiz this week! Fantastic way to stay in touch and still able to do some great activities and something a bit different! Thank you for all the great work you all do to help keep kids smiling!"
If you have noticed an activity here or anywhere else, take inspiration, make contact to share resources or perhaps tell us about what you’ve been doing so we can share with others.
Most importantly if there are areas of the programme that you are wondering how you are going to cover, do let me know and we will see how we can support you to gain resources. Email us at
