We are excited to restart Explorer Scout Young Leader’s training across our District from this October. We want you to try more, see more and do more, we want to help you stand on your own two feet, and make memories to last a lifetime.
Explorer Scout Young Leaders (EYSLs) are Explorer Scouts who work with Adult Leaders in a Beaver Colony, Cub Pack or Scout Troop. EYSLs are an important part of their section’s leadership team, as they can bring new ideas and be positive role models to the young people and the leaders they work with. ESYLs can improve the experience of other young people, by being part of planning meetings and contributing to Youth Shaped Scouting.
The Unit is open to all young leaders aged 14-18 in Scouting. Young people from outside Scouting can also take part if they are working towards their Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards or Queen’s Guide Award. You can also be a Young Leader without taking an active part in an Explorer Unit.
